 How it works

  1. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please start by filling out and submitting an application

  2. Once we’ve received and reviewed your application, we’ll contact you and set up a phone call so we can get to know you better. We’ll discuss our adoption program, tell you more about the puppies, and discuss what you are looking for to ensure that you are the right person/family for one of our puppies.

  3. Once approved we ask that you submit a non-refundable $500 reservation fee, which will secure your place on our reservation list. The reservation fee will go toward the total price of the puppy. Reservations are first come first serve and will determine the order in which you will select your puppy. Your reservation fee is applicable for up to 2 years should you decide to defer your choice of a current litter. This fee is payable by cash, check or Venmo.

  4. Puppy selection takes place between 4 & 6 weeks, once the puppies begin to reveal their emerging personalities. You will have the opportunity to visit in-person to make your selection.

  5. At 8 weeks, your puppy will be ready to go home with you! The remaining balance will be due in cash on the day you pick up. If you are unable to pick up your puppy in person, please contact us so we can help assist you in making travel arrangements. Travel up to 100 miles is complementary and anything beyond is subject to travel fees.

  6. Your new puppy’s go-home date will be 8 weeks from date of birth unless other arrangements have been agreed upon. We can keep your puppy for up to 7 days past this date for no additional fee but after that, a $30 per day boarding fee will apply.

Additional info

It's important to us that we have open and honest communication with our prospective families throughout the entire process. We want our families to know what is going on with their puppy from the moment they are born, so they can know what to expect and be the best dog owners possible. Adoptive families also have the opportunity to come visit our farm and experience their puppies' earliest surroundings if they wish.

We love sharing our philosophy and approach to breeding and raising puppies with every family that adopts from Faith & Family Farm. We’ll provide tips, tools, and resources to help you raise and nurture the healthiest, most well rounded dog possible!

On occasion we have adult dogs available. Please reach out if this is of interest.

Tips for Flying with Your New Puppy:

New pets can be more anxious, so focus on preparation to reduce stress.

  1. Get Them Used to the Carrier Early: Buy an airline-approved soft-sided carrier weeks ahead and have it shipped to our home. We will introduce your new pup to the carrier and work with him/her to familiarize them with the carrier.

  2. Vet Check & Documents: Our vet will issue a standard certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) form.

  3. Feeding & Hydration: Don't feed solid food 4–6 hours before flight to avoid nausea/messes, but offer water. Freeze a water bowl or use absorbent pads in the carrier.

  4. Book Smart: Choose direct flights to minimize stress/layovers. Arrive early (2+ hours) but not excessively so. Book early—pet spots fill fast. Confirm pet reservation when buying your ticket.

  5. At the Airport & Flight:

    • Exercise/walk/play before security to tire them out.

    • Keep them in the carrier through security (remove them only if asked).

    • Stay calm—pets pick up on your energy.

    • Bring familiar items (blanket/toy with litter/mom scent will be provided by us).

  6. Destination Prep: Research local pet rules (e.g., vaccination requirements). Have a plan for arrival (potty breaks, quiet space).

Flying with a new pet is doable and rewarding with prep—we’ll help you do it successfully! We can arrange to meet you at the airport (Kansas City International) and bring your puppy or you can rent a car at the airport and drive to our home to meet our dogs and see our puppy room. We are about an hour away from the airport so plan your return flight accordingly should you choose to drive to our home.

“I have had a wonderful experience with Faith and Family Farm. We brought home a beautiful, healthy Bernese Mountain Dog puppy in January 2023. All of my questions have been patiently answered and I feel very secure knowing I can seek out advice as our sweet girl grows!”
